Bob and Theresa fell in love with their Midcentury Modern Home for many reasons, but the one major selling feature was the fabulous outdoor entertainment space in the form of a 12’x24’ and 16’ x 30’ two-tiered deck. The decking expands the entire length of the back of the home and is the place for hosting many gatherings (pre-COVID-19).
When the decks started to look weathered, the couple thought it was too far gone for ordinary Solid Color Deck and Siding Stain, so they choose the route of a restoring product. They followed the directions to the letter, they sanded each deck board, cleaned the boards of any dust, grease, etc. Next, they moved to apply 8 of the 3‑gallon buckets. What a disappointment when the product peeled off in sheets.

They contacting the manufacturer, who gave them the additional product to correct the problem. Following the same arduous process, the failing product was removed, surface cleaned, etc. the complimentary product was applied. Again, failure!

The solution couldn’t come fast enough. During Covid-19, it is more important than ever to have the additional space for entertaining with social distancing. Bob enjoys grilling, and Theresa is looking forward to hosting their daughter’s 13th birthday party.
